This special limited mintage coin release features two effigies of Queen Elizabeth II – one from when she first appeared on Cayman Island currency, and another current day depiction. The coin commemorates the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s ascension to the throne.
The inset portraits are backed by a radial sun design and accompanied by the phrase “Platinum Jubilee”, the years 1952-2022, and a small seal that reads “70 Years”.
The reverse of the coin features the Cayman Islands coat of arms, and weight, purity, and legal tender face value details.
Each coin weighs 1 troy ounce and is carefully struck in .999 fine silver, then enclosed in an airtight plastic capsule.
Mintage for the 2022 Cayman Islands Queen’s Platinum Jubilee silver coin is limited to just 7,000 pieces and will be distributed to coin dealers worldwide.
Based on the historic subject matter and limited mintage, this coin is expected to have strong future price appreciation potential, and some collectors will likely choose to send the coins into a grading service such as PCGS or NGC for assessment.
